Welcome to Fifth Grade!

Welcome back to school and to an exciting new school year!  I’m thrilled that your child is a part of our learning community and look forward to witnessing their academic and personal growth throughout the year.

Fifth grade will be packed full of new concepts, lots of challenges and loads of fun so I hope your child is well rested and prepared to participate in every way. The year will provide endless opportunities for your child to apply the skills that they have learned during the previous five years.  They will also further develop skills that will serve as a strong foundation as they continue their education through middle, high school and college.

Of course, what they get out of fifth grade will largely depend on the effort they put into it and their attitude towards learning. I will provide a safe, nurturing and respectful environment that promotes learning for all students. I’m here to support your child in every way, but I know that I can accomplish very little without your help.

One on the most important objectives I have for every fifth grader is that their last year in elementary school prepare them for a successful transition to middle school. They will be expected to become independent learners and assume responsibility for their academic progress, their behavior and personal organization.
